Our Vision:  CLS creates life-changing opportunities for the children of Chumkriel and neighbouring communities to realise better futures for themselves and their families.

Our Mission:  To provide education and training that equip students with real-world skills to advance themselves and to make a  significant and useful contribution to their communities.

Our Goal: The aim of Chumkriel Language School is to provide quality education for our students, and to improve the living standards of the Community. We want to raise healthy, happy, self-confident members of Chumkriel and neighbouring communities. This is to be achieved through our teaching and community assistance programs as follows:

Evening School
o Implement the English language curriculum and regularly review and improve it.
o Monitor and manage teachers, and provide training as necessary to achieve and maintain a high standard of teaching by all.
o Maintain, supplement and effectively use teaching resources.
o Undertake regular student assessments to measure the success of the teaching program.

Library
o Maintain and regularly supplement library resources.
o Use library resources effectively and in a manner that is integrated with the school curriculum.
o Provide resources and advice to assist development and effective operation of libraries at Chumkriel and Ang Prey State Schools.

IT
o Share IT resources, including teacher and computers, with Chumkriel State School;
o Implement the IT curriculum and regularly review and improve it.
o Maintain and update computers such that they are sufficient and effective for IT teaching needs.
o Continually update IT skills of CLS staff.

Learning Centre
o Implement Khmer, Elementary English and Health & Hygiene curricula, and regularly review and improve them.
o Monitor and manage teachers, and provide training as necessary to achieve and maintain a high standard of teaching by all.
o Maintain, supplement and effectively use teaching resources.
o Undertake regular student assessments to measure the success of the teaching program.

Health & Hygiene
o Run an active health & hygiene program, including education, health checks, hand washing, and supply of toothbrushes and toothpaste

Scholarships
o Provide scholarships for 40 students to attend State School.
o Provide scholarships for 4 students to attend University.

Salt Field & Soup Kitchen
o Transport up to 30 children from the salt fields to Chumkriel State School each day.
o Provide lunch for up to 35 students at the Soup Kitchen each day.

Agriculture
o Manage the CLS vegetable garden to provide produce for use in the Soup Kitchen and for sale in the markets.
o Grow ornamental plants for sale to businesses in Kampot.
o Educate students from the Learning Centre in growing vegetables, and provide seedlings for them to take to their homes.

Shelter Building
o Provide new shelters for needy families, with contracts signed by the families committing to send their children to school and to maintain the shelters.

Sport
o Develop and run a sporting program with the State School, including joint funding of teacher and equipment and sending students to inter-school sporting events.
